Hi Guys,

New to the forum and I would like introduce myself.

My name is Phil and I live in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I am very update with visas and border crossings. If anyone needs my advice about border crossings with Cambodia or visa advice then please just ask.

I look forward to being part of the discussions.

Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,
I have decided to make use of your knowledge but if i ask to many questions just let me know :) I am going to do a whole Asia trip and would love to include Cambodia in that. I`m not really sure yet where I am entering the country i just want to get as much info as possible and figure there is no better time than the present.
I`m a 23yr old Canadian female, so what exactly am I going to need? lets start there and see what happens.
thanks so much!

Where do you plan to make the crossing?

Generally, $20,a passport and a passport-sized photo will get you a 30 day tourist visa, which can be extended for another 30 days at the immigration office (or do as most do and use an agent to save you running around too much). Have the $20 in cash. Often they'll try to charge $25. Stay polite and tell them that the price is $20. They may stick to their guns for a few mnutes but guarantee you'll get it for $20 if you stick to your guns, as long as you're still smiling! :p

If you want to stay longer, pay $25 for a business visa. This can be extended indefinately in the same way as the tourist visa.

Sorry Phil

Haven't had too much trouble with visas and border crossings into Cambodia but I will surely be glad to get out of the foul place.

I have consistently found the Cambodians to be a most hateful and cowardly people with an obsession for having other people make them feel important and a vindictive penchant for conspired surreptitious bullying should you not show servile deference as they see fit when doing pretty much any sort of everyday business with them.

Personally, I would recommend getting a visa to just about anywhere else.

Default Visa

We just left Cambodia and really enjoyed the people and culture. We are from states and were treated great. We got our Visa online before we left just gooogle it and it will direct you to Cambodia Goverenment website that you can do it on. Makes crossing the border very easy. We just walked right through Thai export and into Cambodia passport control. Then took a $45 cab ride to Siem Reap and had a drive therein Siem Reapfor two days he took us anywhere we wanted for $25 bucks both days. Have fun and if you want email me I can send you drivers email and you can contact him before you leave.

Default Cambodia Visa

It's $20 for a tourist visa when you arrive and you get a visa on arrival and you can extend it for one month. It's $25 for a business visa and that can be extended indefinitely and you don't need to prove anything, you can just get a business visa.
