Default Standard of Living in Saigon

I've recently read someone's blog post on how great it is to live in Saigon. Does anyone know of the standard of living there? For instance, how much is it to rent a 2 bedroom apartment?

hey, 200$ for appartment in district 1,3,10 in saigon seem not a right price..now it cost much more than that...arround 400 - 500 usd. or sometime more..because it nearly the central of Saigon..

For other district..like district 5, or 7..the price is cheaper.

I have been living in Saigon for 5 years, and I love it. the nightlife, easygoing people... sometimes it may be hard to cope with the culture but otherwise it is a nice country (vietnam) to live in.

For the price of the appartment I would back up 'la anda' especially in district 1 it's getting very expensive. you can find nice places in An Phu (D.2) or 7.

The traffic there was not so good, motobikes everywhere, so I think you need consider the position carefully before you rent. And the price varies a lot for different area.

It depends, of course. But generally, it costs around 350 USD for a 2 bedroom apartment, 15$ for going to the club (entrance fee with a soft drink), 0.75$ for a coke, 3-4$ for a cinema ticket...
Everything is quite good, do not worry if you are going there.

A 2 bedroom apartment if it's near the centre ( D.1 , 3 , 10 ) may be about $400 or more per month, and the cost of living is of course higher than in the other districts around the city.
