Default Severe nut allergies, considering moving to Vietnam?

Hello everyone,

My boyfriend is half Vietnamese, and wants to move there in the future. He does not speak the language. I would love to be able to move there with him. However, I have severe allergies to ALL nuts (not just peanuts), and am not sure how I'd survive in that part of the world.

Has anyone traveled/lived in Vietnam with a serious nut allergy?

Do ingredient labels document the possibility of cross contamination?

I'd love to hear any info at all related to nuts and food prep, and the availability of western eateries such as Subway that I could feel comfortable in.

Thank you for any information!!

Sorry, I was a little abrupt in my first reply. Deserves a better answer.
I've lived here for quite some time and kind of on to food enhancer type stuff here.
You would not be able to eat with confidence at pretty much any rest. or roadside vendor here. Many use, in addition to msg etc, prepared packet enhancers from China, local and who knows where. These preperations may or may not contain nuts, oils or extracts. The Chinese ones they can't read the ingredients anyway and the local ones they don't really bother.
Western style places such as the likes of subway would also be unreliable imho.
The only solution for you is the obvious. Buy all your own enhancers, fresh food and do it at home. Cheaper anyway and money No.1 here, lol.
Good luck to you, this country is worth a go.
