Question Vientiane accomodation

Hi guys, has anyone got any recomendations for any cheap guesthouses in Vientiane? We are on a budget of under $15 a night but the cheaper the better.

Thanks!

Unhappy

Sorry Craig, can't help on that one - my accommodation in Vientiane was utterly forgetful. We had bigger things on our minds - I was recovering from giardia and the girl I was travelling with had been temporarily blinded in one eye thanks to an infection... both caught from the river in Vang Vieng! We barely made a dent on Vientiane before clearing off back to the sanctity of Bangkok to recuperate.

My only recommendation for Vientiane is to check out the Joma Bakery... delicious french-style pastries and great coffee!

But can someone else recommend a guesthouse for Craig?

If you tell the tuktuk man to drop you off at the Nam Phu (fountain) this is very central and you'll see lots of tourists getting around this area, plus lots of western-style eating places, plus lots of hotels & guesthouses scattered around. You wouldn't have to walk very far around this part of town before you found what you want.
