Default Cheaper hotel required in HCMC

Hi, travelling third time to Vietnam in April next year. Looking for "budget" hotel in HCMC for a couple of nights on our way up to Hanoi. Previous stays have been at the Majestic but it has become too pricey. Looking for something comfortable for 2 in the Dong Khoi area for about US$30 to $45. Any advice?

Smile cheap hotel in HCM

Hi David

We are just back from HCM and stayeyed at the Huong Sen Hotel which is in the area you are interested in. The hotel is a good 3 star place with a small pool on the top floor. Its clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly. Its in an excellent location and near the markets, shops , restaurants very close. Worth a look at their website. I would be happy to stay there again.

Thanks for that. What sort of price did you pay?
Cheers, David

Hi David

Apologies for taking so long to respond- I have been away.

From memory the rate was around $60 per night with breakfast.

Have a look at vietnamtouroffer.com

Default Hotel cheap in HCM city

Why you do not contact to one agent in Vietnam for booking for you ?

They will suggest you hotel & best price because travel agents has contract with hotels and the price is less 30-40% than public price.

I agree totally! I always use a local agent when travelling in Vietnam but I like to do my own research first and make suggestions which they either agree with or suggest alternatives to.

there are heaps of guesthouses around pham ngu lao and its right smack in the middle of shopping and restaurants. i stayed in a hotel called canadian hotel. they charge about $15/room/night that can sleep two people. the best part is its right infront of the park so the next day when you wake up you will see the local flair of people keeping fit and early motorcycle rides. very cool!
