Default Siem Reap -where to stay ??

Hi -havnt been to Cambodia b4, therfore would love some advice on where to stay in Siem Riep. Needs to be moderately priced ($50), plus be within a restaurant shopping area - just for ease. Would be great if it had a pool -but not essential......

I usually stay at the Bopha Angkor which is a good 3 star that gets good reviews. It is in a good location and an easy walk to restaurants and pubs. Rooms are basic but clean and the pool is very nice. The deluxe pool side rooms are great but a little more than what you want to pay. http://www.bopha-a

Also check the Angkor Star Hotel which friends have stayed at and were satisfied. Angkor Star Hotel, Siem Reap

To view more hotels and compare rates this is a good site but be aware that to the initial rate shown you have to addd 22% for tax, service charges etc. Siem Reap Hotels - Discount Rates for all Hotels in Siem Reap

The web site for the Bopha Angkor should read
Bopha-Angkor.com - to Bopha Angkor Hotel & Restaurant - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Thanks Scotters. That looks pretty good. Has anyone stayed at Palm Village -http://www.palmvillage.com.kh/
Its not right in the hub, but looks really nice, and is closer to Angkor. I guess my concern would be not being around other places to eat ?? But for 3 nights perhaps its not an issue ??
