Default Birding in Phuket

Hey does anyone know of a good birding guide or a good half-day/full-day birding trip that I can do in Phuket? Will not have time to do an overnighter so it will have to be something I can do or some place that I can do on Phuket Island itself.

Assuming we are talking about the feathered variety. We met a British couple in Pattaya last October who were avid bird watchers (not twichers... apparently there is a difference)
They had a book of Thai birds which kept them happy during their stay, however, they didn't mention any day trips.
I'm sorry I can't help but if you google, you may come up with a good day trip.
Happy Googling
Cheers Geri

Default the feathered variety definitely!

I made contact with one guiding service and they've quoted me 6500B for a full day birding trip to three different places on the island, including Ton Sai waterfalls and Bang Tak non-hunting area (sic). The fees cover tranportation, meals, entrance fees and guiding services. I'm joining someone who already signed up with them. As I understand it, it's just the two of us, so it's quite personalised. Still, 6500B (S$273) feels like a lot of money so I'd like to see what options are before biting the bullet.

Oooh! that's an awful lot of money in anyone's currency. I hope you find a better deal than that.
Cheers Geri
