Default Adapters

Hi we are going to Bangkok and then Patong and need to know if power adapters are realiy available in Bangkok. I need a plug so my Australian power cord conveted to Thai power.

Yes, adaptor plugs are readily available in Bangkok. They're pretty cheap - a couple of hundred baht max.
I've bought them in Robinsons Department Store, Silom but I'm sure you'd get them in other Robinsons stores as well as Central Department stores.
Maybe Watsons Pharmacies sell them (?)

Your hotel should have adaptor plugs and will lend you one while staying there.

If you haven't left Australia yet, you can buy them at travel sections of department stores and luggage /travelgoods stores.
NRMA/RACV/RACQ shops sell them too.

I echo echo echo what Kimbo wrote. The adaptor for Thailand is a ' 2 round pin' one.

May i make a little suggestion.I take a small three socket power board with me whenever I go on holiday.I is so handy just to plug it into youe adaptar then you can recharge phones cams etc at the same time

Hi , i'am from australia too - i have phone/camera chargers & dont have to use adaptors i just plug them straight into socket - always work never been a problem - same in vietnam & cambodia also - they are not a tight fit like home , they are loose but still work - if u do want an adaptor u can buy them here in aust. at airport - but lot cheaper in Thailand

Australian plugs are 3 diagonal pin ... how can you put them into a two round pin socket

Geri,
Not all Australian plugs are 3 pins - all my Australian purchased - chargers - phone/camera/razor are 2 pin plugs , & easily used in thailand with no probs .
