Bali Palm just back for phuket

sawatdee

I have been back a few days now , still finding it hard to readjust to life again after 11 days in Phuket .
A big thanks to all members with all the help to my silly questions before i went
A metered taxi from the airport , was an hour wait , so we went with a private car for 550 bht
We stayed at the Baumanburi a great hotel , we were very happy with the hotel and it's staff . Our room was great the breakfast was also great . We didn't like the gurl in the internet room out front she was rude and ripped us off with the price of the internet . I'm glad we didn't book any tours with her .
We met Mr Alex ph: 089-8682174 out front of the hotel and worked out a price to tour a bit of phuket of 600bht . He spoke all the way telling us good places to shop and all the answers to all our questions and the air conditioner was welcomed after the heat . A tuk tuk was alot cheaper but no conversation and no air conditioner , so we were happy to pay alittle more . We covered a fair bit of ground in 1 day , starting at the view point , elephant park , monkey show , phuket zoo and a jewelery store and a pewter store and then to the night markets in phuket city .
The weekend night markets at phuket city are very cheap and a great place to shop , alot cheaper than patong . I also found it alot easier learning a little thai it came in very handy getting stuff alot cheaper , and getting rid of thai's hasseling you with a simple no thankyou in thai
Loy kratong festival was on our 2nd night , we had a ball joining in with the locals .
We ate at a few restaurants around patong , but found a few smaller restaurants across the road from the holiday inn on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Rd were great food and very cheap .
We did tour the Phi Phi trip and the sea canoe trip to james bond island both great trips and i recommend both trips .
I got another tattoo while there at Patong tattoo a great shop with 2 of the nicest guys you will meet and very professional .
The weather was unreal of our whole holiday sunny and hot , i will stop my aimless rambling now but check out the pics below

Hi,
You said,
We did tour the Phi Phi trip and the sea canoe trip to james bond island both great trips and i recommend both trips .

Could you please tell me more about these trips. I would like to do them in Jan when we are there. eg. How much, where do they leave from, how long is the trip etc.

Regards,

Dave

We paid around 1300 - 1500 each for each trip , you will have to bargin alittle , days started around 730 - 830am till around 5 - 6 pm , both trips took around 40 - 50 mins from patong beach to the harbour (trips left from different harbours).
The james bond island trip was great , we went with Phuket team canoe , 1st off we went to 2 hongs which were great then had a great lunch on board and visited james bond island , then on to Naka island for a swim and sea canoe , I highly recommend this trip , but others i spoke to said the evening trip is alot better .
We traveled wit p.p island marine group on the phi phi trip also a great trip , but with the ocean a little rough we all got wet , but all in good fun . 1st stop was an island in the middle of nowhere for snorkling and sea canoe , then onto monkey beach for a swim and snorkling then onto the beach to visit the monkeys , then on to phi phi for lunch . After lunch we had a few more stops before returning to patong .
* Note trips change due to tides
Before we went on these trips we went to a dive shop and bought a wet pack for around 10 bucks , and i'm glad we did , to keep the camera and mobile phone and cash dry .
Hope this helps , if i can be anymore help just yell out
