Default Flying Domestic in Thailand

Hi all,

I'm pretty sure I read on the forum that you can fly from Bangkok to Chaing Mai, firstly is this correct. Also can you fly from Chaing Mai to Phuket and/or Ko Samui. If so, what are the best airlines to use and do I just ring them or go to thier office in Thailand when I am there. I'm talking about January approx 11th - 15th. Also, what is the approx cost of these flights.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Enpi,
Just looked on internet for u of flight costs --
U can fly from Bangkok to Chaing Mai direct - i'am probably doing it myself in early march - i looked at AirAsia & it is about $38.00 o/w.total .
I think from Chaing Mai to Phuket u will have to go via Bangkok - price from Bangkok to Phuket is about same $38.00 o/w. (airasia)
Chaing Mai - Koh Samui - $245.00 o/w. (Bangkok Air) in January. (possibly direct- or via Bangkok ?)
Bangkok - Samui - from $90.00 - $140.00 o/w (Bangkok Air) depending on time of day
I pretty sure Bangkok Air is the only airline thats flys to Koh Samui.

i normally book my Thai internal flights on the internet - no probs. at all, if i know dates i want to travel i book them from home, or just book them when in thailand when i know dates, but i think the earlier u book the cheaper it is.
or if u uncomfortable with internet booking , there are many thai travel agents that can do it for u prices prety much the same ,maybe just a little commision ? - they are all over Thailand.

Thai Air is probably the best - along with Bangkok Air - but more expensive than the budget airlines - Air Asia, Nok Air, One 2 Go - i have used Air Asia - & other budget airlines many times before - no probs. really - just twice flights were delayed - i think Thai Airways get priority from what i've been told b4 ?
(all prices above are in Australian Dollars & total cost - taxes included)

hope this is some helps- if u need any other info - just ask
Cheers Gary

You can fly direct from Chiang Mai to Phuket via Thai airways. You have to book this asap as this flight sells out quickly.
