Default Thank you!

Thank you for those kind words Richard!

I didn't have your email address in my address book but I just sent out a link to a special holiday recipe to everyone in my address book. The recipe is for my Turkey Curry. My husband always bake turkey for X-mas, New Year etc and I use the leftovers to make red curry.

Here is a link to the recipe: http://www.thaihomecooking.com/turkeycurry.pdf

Best regards,
Angsana

Her English is very good. She's easy to communicate with and the fact that you are not in a group session gave me lots of opportunities to ask lot of questions. Her Mom, who is also very sweet came in to help with the clean up and I asked her to join us lunch.

Angsana asks you what you would like to prepare when you schedule your visit. It's up to you: I choose three dishes: Sweet Green Chicken Curry (Gaeng Khiaw-waan Gai), Pat-Thai, and Barbecued Pork Skewers with Peanut Sauce (Moo Satay)...

I did the cutting, the slicing, cooked on here stove and back yard barbecue. She lets you get right in there. We made all of our own curry pastes and the peanut sauce too. (which is to die for with the pork BBQ)

When everything was ready the three of us sat at her dining table and ate and ate and ate. This was another great opportunity to ask questions about other dishes or Thailand in general.

I was at her home for three and a half hours and hated to leave. It was so different than the other Thai Cooking Classes I've taken that were structured. A great experience - if you want to learn how to prepare your favorite dish I highly recommend you call for an lesson.

Her website: thaihomecooking.com - I made my arrangements over the telephone shortly after arriving in Bangkok. Her phone number when dialing within Thailand is 08 1455 5808. E-mail address: angsana@thaihomecooikng.com . Tell her Sue-Tape sent you!

Default Thai Cooking Class Bangkok Isan House

I did the Isan House Thai Cooking course in Bangkok with Tor and I was thrilled and amazed how easy she made learning Thai Cooking. I would highly recomend her if you are going to do a Thai Cooking Class in Bangkok.

Richard, must have been a long long time ago when you lived in Pattaya and there were no bars. When was that? Back in the 1960s?

As for Thai cooking classes. I did one in Perth Australia a couple years ago, with TAFE in the evenings, teacher was a very nice Thai lady, her parents run a restaurant in Phuket, so she grew up with cooking as her profession. One of the advantages of doing the course at home was the teacher knew all the best places to get the various ingredients (not really a problem in Australia these days) also she was able to suggest easy alternatives and substitutes for anything that was hard to find.

I am a foodie and have cooked in ChangMai, Koh Samui, Bangkok, probably at total of +10 cooking schools (probably +30 classes) and I keep coming back time and time again to cook with Angsana. Last time I cooked there in June 2009 her mother and grandmother were there both there and directly influenced Angsana cooking abilities. Boy they did a great job!

As I have cooked at so many places around Thailand each time I cook with Angsana it become more difficult to find something I have not cooked before. However each time we sit down and work out something different go out and get the ingredience from the local market and come back and cook the menu I selected with Angsana's input. Interesting I just visited her website before I type this review and notice 4 different dishes since my last visit in Jly last year.....won't have to scratch our heads next time I am there.

For me personally I enjoy the experience of being able to select what I cook and to have the one on one experience that Angsana's Thai Home Cooking allows me to do. Also cooking in her home kitchen adds another pleasure to the experience.

It was an exceptional experience after we cooked on my last time there to invite Angsana's mother, grandmother and her new born baby daughter Victoria all at the table enjoying and reviewing what we just cooked. What a lovely experience it was, 4 generations.

The review below (see bold and italics ) I did in virtualtourist.com a couple of years back on my first cooking experience with Angsana. I have since cooked with Angsana on another two occassions and would not miss cooking with her next time I am in Bangkok.

Angsana is a delightful lady, great sense of humour, good teacher, speaks excellent english and makes you do all the cooking hands on. The sum of the total equals a truely delightful experience.

Angsana's contact details are at the bottom of the review.

I had the pleasure of attending Angsana's cooking class in her home in Bangkok. What a pleasant and rewarding experience it was, so much so I did another class with her a few days later!

Angsana offers a different cooking class experience as you are able to select the dishes you want to do rather than a structured menu as most offer. You also a have a unique experience of doing all the cooking in a Thai home. The knowledge and experience Angsana has gained in Thai cooking stems from her cooking with her mother and grandmother, truly Thai home cooking. I requested a dish that is a favourite from our Thai restaurant back home Angsana wasn't aware of it however her mother was. Angsana then cooked the dish the day before I had the class, then prepared the professional handout recipe and taught the dish flawlessly on the day of my class....WOW!!

Angsana has excellent English, teaching skills and great sense of humour making her class not only a great way to learn home style Thai cooking but a truly enjoyable experience too! Very much a hands class Angsana makes sure you get your hands dirty doing the preparation and cooking of each dish. During the class many questions and answers were provided along with loads of suggestions.

You prepare and cook your selected dishes with her professionally prepared and presented recipes which are yours to keep so you can repeat the selected dishes for your family and friends back home. At the end of cooking each dish you sit down and get to eat dishes you cooked...... be warned do not eat breakfast!

I have tried a number Thai cooking classes in Thailand and I can highly recommend Angsana's Thai Home Cooking as one of the best!

Angsana has a website Thai Home Cooking - Private Thai Cooking Classes in Bangkok and is conveniently located just off Sukhumvit Soi (Street) get there by BTS sky train or as I did by meter taxi for just 45 baht. Her email is angsana@thaihomecooking.com. I am sure you will enjoy the experience!
