Default Help!

Hi, I am planning on visting Thailand with my girlfriend next June. We could not decide where to go, so we picked 3 places each and drew one from a hat. Thailand (my choice) won!

I would like to plan as much as possible, but I am not sure where to start! I want it to be the holiday of a life-time!

From research I would like to start and finish in Bangkok. We are only going for 2 weeks! I was thinking the first 3 days in Bangkok (including arrival) and the last 3 (including day of departure).

That leaves us just 7 days!

We would really like to see phuket and koh samui. What would be the best way to do this? Is there time? Whats the best way of travel?

What would you suggest for first time travellers? We would like to explore and have the chance to just chill out for a couple of days on a beautiful beach at the same time!

Please help!

Thank you.

My suggestion is stay 1 night when you first land then fly out the next day to Phuket(bear in mind it is the monsoon season in June over there so you might want to consider that factor) to spend a few days and then fly to Samui (good season to go in June) for a number of days. If you still want more adventure, gte back to Bangkok with 5 nights to go, spend 2 of which in nearby Kanchanaburi and the last 3 nights in bangkok. Make sure the last 3 nights in bangkok are across the weekend so that your girlfriend can go shopping at Chatuchat market !

Get about by budget air lines like air asia etc.

have fun in beautiful thailand

Everyone will tell you 2 weeks is not long enough, but it can be done! Our first trip we travelled on a friday, arrived sat 6 am, 2 nights at the Marriott River Garden (get a river view room), then had a prebooked 6 day tour from premier holidays which was 2 nights Mae Hon Song, 2 nights golden triange, 2 nights chiang mai full board with a guide. this was a great introduction to the country. We then booked 5 nights in Phuket (but samui or krabi would do just as well), then returned to Bangkok for a night and returned home (to heathrow). this worked out very well and you get to see a lot. Over time we have moved on to other things in thailand but this was a wonderful introduction to the country. good luck!

Or, 2 nights bangkok (try the silom serene for much cheaper than marriott!) 3 nights chiang mai, then either phuket or samui, or both, for 7 nights finishing with a night in bangkok before flying home.
