Bus from Hua Hin to Koh Lanta

Hi everyone
Is ther anyone that have any experience traveling from Hua Hin to Koh Lanta.
We are 10 people that are traveling together so we are trying to cut the cost thats why bus.
We are planing to leav Hua Hin in the eavning with destination Krabi and the take the boat to Koh Lanta.
Anyone knows if this is possible and the price for the bus.
