I was hoping someone might have some first hand knowledge about Koh Lanta. What kind of travel expereince is to be had on this island? Would it be a good destination for a family with children? whay kinds of activities are available? We are looking for a place where we could indulge in some good snorkeling, going to local restaurants and really just hanging out on the beach. Any ideas about hotels etc would be useful. We plan to visit Phuket as well and have read it takes 4 hours to drive there in a mini van - is this accurate and is the journey worthwhile in terms of scenery?
