AAAAARRRRGGGHHH! just lost the message I wrote! Deep breath, try again.............
1. Sentosa Island is an interesting diversion from the city and all those shops.
Go over by cable car......... it goes high above the water and you can see the ships in/going to the port.
You can get a bus to the cable car, but we took a taxi - both quick and easy.
On Sentosa the beach is nice enough and there's a hotel right there.. you can sit and have lunch or a drink.
Buses run around Sentosa so you can get around easily.
There's also a very upmarket hotel ........."The Sentosa". It's nice to go for a buffet lunch or just a drink in the chic bar.
2, How about a boat ride along the river to/from Clarke Quay?...views of the shiny new and the older Singapore side by side....(colourful old Chinese shophouses turned into shops and restaurants alongside big commerical buildings.
3. Or a trip to the Arab Quarter/Little India and Chinatown - tasty food and interesting little shops with crafts, antiques and a host of other stuff.
4. No trip to Singapore would be complete without a trip to the famous Raffles Hotel - lots of restaurants and shops around the courtyard. And of course, those Singapore Slings
