Talking Some of them

are google and yahoo bots, crawling about the place. They can not answer and will never be physically able to go to Thailand

Ok, here's the dumb question.....
How do you know how many people are online? Where's the info about that? - can't see it anywhere.

I think that if you go on to the home page it shows the number of people viewing the sites. if I am wrong I am sure someone will tell us!

Exclamation Correct

Near the bottom of the main / front / home page it shows you how many connections there are. Connections may mean some Google bots for example, sniffing around. Also, the forum software does not know for sure when someone leaves this site, so it does have a time out feature which, if the connection does not request something new (another page), then it is considered gone. Sometimes that means someone is reading a long thread but is not counted as they have not clicked anything for a while. Sometimes this means someone or something that has actually gone, is still being counted as online.

I actually limit the number of "bots" on these forums, as some bots are very naughty! So hopefully I have a reasonable balance going and reflection of real connections from people and nice bots. I suspect if you halved the number of visitors shown though, that would actually reflect the number of unregistered people visiting the site.

I always have a look to see how many are on. the most was the day we set off for Samui last time on the 17th June.
