Default phi phi island these days

Anybody can give me an update on what Phi Phi island is like these days after the Tsunami in 2004. IS there a lot of construction going on? Is it okay to go for stay?

Yes, it is ok to stay.

Depending on what you're looking for, construction is not the problem but the partying is. Phi Phi, especially the strip, has turned into a party island.

To stay away from that, stay in one of the hotels away from the strip and you'll be fine.

thanks for your reply. Do you have any hotels to recommend which is just off the strip but not too far way? Looking for something around perhaps 1500 baht to 1800 baht max. Do they have bungalows which can accomodate 5 people if not just 2 hotel rooms?

Default There are 5 of us too travelling to Phi Phi

When are you going and where are you from? We are 5 girls from Canada and will be there around the 17th of Feb.

I am from Singapore and hope to be there in early Dec. Was there before the tsunami and made a few friends there. It would be good to see how they are doing and what the island is like.

Is it your first time there? A lovely island..






BTW I was in Toronto, Canada in July this year ! Beautiful country with very nice and friendly people .

Default Yes this is my 3rd time to Thailand

but trying new places this time around. But going back to some favs. Phi Phi - Ko samui and Krabi and trying Ko Phangan for first week.

I am from Manitoba the province next door to Ontario (Toronto) - thanks for the compliment.
