This is a tough question as all weather questions are.

November on the Andaman side is the supposed start of the better weather.

November for Samui is in the wet season.November for Samui is normally one of the months for heaviest rainfall. Now what that rainfall consists of is anybodies guess.People have been to Samui in November will report just heavy thunderstorms & the majority of the day is ok.Others will say they have been in November & it`s rained for days on end.For the record last November wasn`t too bad.

A couple of years ago the rain hung around on the Andaman side till around xmas.

The weather patterns this year for Samui especially, have been a little off kilter compared to other years so who knows what November is likely to bring.

If I was a gambling man i`d have something on Phuket for the better weather.

November is a difficult month to advice indeed.

Would rule out Samui, but that do not imply that Phuket is 100 % sure.

I explain myself better. I have been going to Thailand for 20 years. Went many times in November, and that was fine. Sometimes a small thunderstorm of 20 minutes, was the most I get from rain. Further you go into November less chance you have. It is still cooler then in Februari to May, and that is more pleasant.

But two years ago, I stayed a month from 15 th November till 18th of December, with every day from morning to evening with clouds and rain. There was a low depression on South Asia, that wouldn't go away! I never witnessed that! One of the reasons was that the rains stared later then usual that year.

So let's say, normally you should be fine, it is not without any risk like January or February, but risk is small, only bad luck can spoil your time.

I am there myself again from 14th November till the 10 th of December...

Again I am with Jamie on this one. Been in November and you could have jet skied down beach road. Some sunshine, but only a little.
been caught out at Xmas as well with non stop rain.
Came back in May with web feet - well I did not notice them before I went !!!
Remind me again why I love it !!!

Well I think that we are all on one line here. Would rule Samui out and Phuket is normal fine.
