Smile Accommodation Chaweng Beach Koh Samui

Hubby and I are offer to Koh Samui for a couple of weeks in June. We have accommodation for the first week and were wanting some advice as to whether we should book our second week before departing or wait until we are there to choose. We are after a quiet location close to restaurants etc.

Thanks

We stayed at Chaweng Buri Resort and its worth a look. Its right on the nice part of the beach in town and has nice gardens and set back from the road so its quiet and there are heaps of restaurants just outside the resort. Its about a 3 star place- I think they claim 4 stars but this would be stretching it in my view. I would be inclined to book accommodation in advance as I think you can generally get a better deal on the internet. There are heaps of places in Chaweng Beach that offer a range of prices so if you don't mind wandering around I am sure you would find something you would like and in your price range. Samui is a lovely place for a holiday but very touristy in my opinion.

Smile Accommodation Chaweng Beach Koh Samui

Reet,

I have to agree with Roving Rabbit. Booking in advance could and probably will save you money. Many hotels have a "walk-In' rate which is usually much higher than what you would find online. Finding available accommodation in Chaweng during June would not be my primary concern, but price would if you had to pay a walk-in rate. Also, if you do book online in advance, first compare the hotel's online rates with that of a few online booking agencies. They are also again cheaper than the hotel. Chaweng Buri would indeed be a good choice since you will have relative peace and quiet at the resort while Chaweng's attractions are almost on your doorstep. This is in fact a three star resort though. However, Chaweng is quite a long stretch of beach and some a parts of this beach are much quieter than others. Other recommended options in Chaweng you should check out and book in advance to get a better price are Chaweng Cove Resotel and Chaweng Regent. Amari Palm Reef has a very nice setting in a secluded corner of Chaweng and very recommended. However, if you need even more tranquility in Chaweng, head for Chaweng Noi Beach, this is more outside the buzz. In Chaweng Noi you should check out the New Star Beach Resort and Nora Beach Resort.
