Default Spices

Hey y'all! Anyone have info regarding returning thru US customs/agricultural inspection with Thai spices, etc?
I'll be a short trip to Istanbul rpior to that and have same situation.
I'm all out of Egyptian/Sudanese stuff I dragged back a few years ago, so I need to restock!
I didn't find anything that says US prohibits spices (no rice, due to possible miniscule vermin?) but these will be in bags not supermarket tins and such.
Any thoughts or foreseeable problems?
Thanks!

I have brought spices home a few times and never challenged by U.S. Customs; however, I don't know the official answer to your question. Let us know how you make out.

Sorry markadmin but I am confused with your comments: "as they do not include curry leaves you are fine." Does this mean, you can import spices but not curry leaves? I know that U.S. citizens can order absolutely any fresh or dried spices from www:importfoods.com. Thank You!

Just got back and just listed souveniers on customs form. No sweat--white, black and red peppercorns, galanga, ground spcies and whole Thai dried chilies.
Time to cook...
