Thumbs up Massage in Bangkok

I just got back from Thailand trip.
During my stay in Bangkok , I had an amazing massages so I thought I could share my story too.

As a remedial massage therapist myself (in my home country Australia ) , I get frequent massage and am incredibly picky ( backseat driver lol) about the one I get. I know massage is very cheap in Thailand but I still want to find some real massage therapists and want to experience the art of true Thai massage.

At "Lavana Spa " in Bangkok,

I had a 90minutes Thai massage here , cost me 600 baht. ( on the price list , 60min 450 baht, 120 min 700baht ) .To me, first it looked like this place was located in a little funny position, but the setting was nice, very spacious , clean, smells nice, courteous staff (My friend and I just rocked up without a booking but they squeezed us in , which was nice ) ,The room was quite big and nicely decorated , it was very relaxing and overall a great value for the price !

You can find plenty of massage shops liberally scattered throughut the tourist area , and these offer lower prices , ( Average 300 baht for 60 min ? or lower in my memory ) but I know I wouldnt feel comfortable having a massage at the place doesnt have a proper privacy partation , and a quiet , air conditioned room, and many of those street massage shops doesnt have them all. well.. I guess " you get what you pay for " ?

sure Hotels and spas offers more fancy - luxuary stuff , if you can splash top dollars for a beautiful room with soft music, candles , scented clothing, plus more chance to have a good masseuse who has been professionaly trained. ( I guess its not always the case though , expensive pricing doesnt mean talented or skilled in their trade.)

I think Lavana spa is in between , where you pay just a little more than street massage and get something a little different and nice.

They tick all the right boxes :)

At first they served beautiful herbal tea, I filled out the medical questionnaire paperwork , asking me disired area to be worked on and focus or desired pressure level etc, also I felt safe , as i could address my medical issues here if I had one , ( good communication makes a big difference. ) So I didnt need to stop my treatment and explain or request what I wanted.

The massage i had was simply divine, I am having a backache and Chronic neck pain from too much stress and heavy workload, and I have been told so many times that my body was not very easy to massage, I realized it must have been a hard work for the therapist . I know my tiny therapist paid special attention to the areas of my body that needed it with Fairy deep pressure ( As i requested to ) , and I could tell that she had an experience and she knew what she was doing . I m glad that I had 90min session but I really didnt want it to end !!!!

I was so ultra-relaxed and I could really feel a difference in my neck , and I was on a cloud nine for most of the day afterwards!...and spent hours and money in the shopping centre lol ( oh also I loved that they serve tiny chocolate ice-cream after treatment. so cute...)
I will definitely come back again next time I visit Bangkok , and I would hightly recommend this place to anyone !

Too funny! It's easy to be cynical these days but I know the person who posted this review and it's 100% genuine... because at the time I was lying beside her having a massage too!

Nice try!
