Although i have been to bkk several times, i either walk to the destination or take a BTS. May I know if there is any website for me to plan my trip to travel from Ayutthaya train station to Ayutthaya and from there to Kanchanaburi and back to the train station. As I am very bad with maps and direction, knowing where to get transport is my main concern and this is my first solo trip.

Thanks!!

Smile First time in Thai - my travel itinerary idea

I went to Thailand this winter (jan, feb) and my itinerary was pretty nice : Kuala Lumpur (2 days), Chiang Mai (3 days), Bangkok (3 days), Phi Phi (3 days), Ao Nang (7 days) and back to Kuala Lumpur.

I have been to Erawan waterfalls several times. It's a beautiful forest location in a national park 60 km north of Kanchanaburi. As I wrote, just take the local bus 8170 around 8.00 AM, which will take you there (last bus back 4.00PM). It isn't really crowded, but due to its beauty it, of course, has some attraction.

Had not been the help from the local, this trip would not be successful. Met alot of beautiful people along the way from Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi to Bangkok. This trip was done mostly by taking bus. A must visit is to cave Lawa in Kanchanaburi, its beautiful beyond words can describe. There are many beautiful stones inside. As I was alone, I requested for the man taking care of this cave to go in with me. He lead me to angles where beautiful stones are. Some sparkle, maybe they are Crytals, He's not too sure either. The different part of the caves are named by the figurine of the stones. I was fine at fascinated and excited until we saw a bone the size of a upper arm, both of us looked at each other and thats when I wanted to get out as soon as possible. Bone was found at the prohibited area from the visitor. Will be fine if you dont go beyond that. I skipped Erawan Waterfall and went to SaiYok waterfall which is nearby to Lawa cave. Will definately return to Kanchanaburi again to visit more caves and Erawan waterfall which I had missed this time round. Generally, they start and end the days early so please prepare to wake up early.
River Kwai Hotel is a chain hotel which have branches around the river kwai bridges, 1km away from bus station and near SaiYok so be sure to book the correct one. I stayed at River Kwai Hotel just 1km away from Bus Station and 4km away from River Kwai. Walked daily to bus station for dinner which by 6pm, the stalls will be all lined up ready for business. You will so be spoilt by choices as the stalls stretched about 500m along the main road.
In Bangkok, I travelled around mainly by taking Buses. Just make sure you are not the last to board the bus and you will be fine. :)
I love my First Solo Trip!!
