Well, one of the major reasons I wanted to go to Chiang Mai was the white water rafting.

But we mainly want to do the beach and go shopping. So I think we are just going to go to Bangkok, Phuket (and neighboring islands) and then back to Bangkok (and Ayuthaya). We decided we wanted it to be as relaxed as possible, and yeah my plan was pretty hectic! But this way we leave it open a bit so we can kind of 'wing it' :)And we will probabyl try to come back during the summer for about 3-4 weeks so we don't feel so rushed.
