Yes, the pool made me hesitate, but in the "fullmoon bungalows" I stayed before, went...twice. I prefer to go in the afternoon to the beach and shower when I am in the room. Kata's beach is one of the nicest of the island!

Would definitely not recommend without bike, but like I said, if you do have one like myself, everything is still close!
