still looking for 3 nights in phuket and 3 in krabi next january. Has anyone used the Baan Lamai ,or Impiana Cabana in Patong or Kata Palm Hotel in kata? we thought we were tied into the virgin hotels but now have some free nights to make our own arrangements.

We are real novices for krabi and don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, has anyone stayed at elephant hills safari camp, we are booked there for a few nights in between everything else!

I have been to Krabi twice and each time I have stayed in PraNang Inn. It has a good location being in front of Ao Nang beach and the main road though still quiet and peaceful enough. Best of all the rooms are good and prices are reasonable which you can book online. Do check it out if it suits your needs. If you want something more expensive there is always the cliff and golden beach resort etc.
