If you're based in the UK then you could save £££s on your everyday shopping - including up to 10% on every hotel booking you make online - through a very popular cashback website called
TopCashback.
How does it work?
Simply sign up for
TopCashback - it's
free. When you next want to make a purchase from, say, hotels.com or Expedia, instead of going directly to the merchant's website you log in to
TopCashback and click through to the merchant from their site. Any sales you make are then tracked and you receive the stated amount of cashback back into your account for you to withdraw to your bank account or PayPal. Simple!
Which merchants can I get cashback from, and how much?
All the established High Street brands and more are on TopCashback; if you regularly order online at Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Next, Curry's, House of Fraser, Play.com, Debenhams and so on and are not currently using a cashback website to make your purchases through, then you're losing out on a pile of cash!
The cashback amounts change all the time, but as of the time of writing (5 January 2012) here are the cashback amounts for a few popular travel websites:
flexicover.co.uk -
17.5% off travel insurance
hotels.com -
10% off hotel bookings
thetrainline.com -
1.5% off train tickets
lastminute.com -
5% off holidays, 7% off hotels

expedia.com -

Do I have to spend money to earn cashback?
Not necessarily - this is the beauty of it! If you're savvy, you can earn cash by just completing quotes and searches, or applying for free trials and then cancelling before the end of the period. You can also get paid £50 cash for successfully applying for credit cards like the
Post Offce Credit Card which you could choose to cut up once the cashback has been credited to your account, or alternatively you could keep it - it offers 0% fees on usage abroad so I keep mine handy.
Why are you telling me this?
Well, it's a no-brainer - a totally free way of saving money on everyday purchases - but as a member of
TopCashback I get paid a small amount to refer new members, which goes towards paying the dues for the forum. When you join, you'll be able to refer friends and family, too.
Where do I sign up, then?
