Hi there, my husband and I are first timers to Phuket and will be travelling there with our 2 + 4 yr old daughters. Just hoping some of the experts on this forum could please advise us on when it would be best to travel there - June or November?? Or perhaps pros and cons of both? I guess we're mostly curious about the weather/rain at those times of the year. Thanks very much for any info, Bec
Regarding hotels etc. June is the cheaper month because it is low season. And it is low season because of the direction of the wind, from the West, bringing rain with it.
Having said that, June is normally nothing too bad with regards to rainy days or strength of wind (important for water related activities). November is the start of the dry season so should be ok, but there have also bene years when November has been quite wet and stormy.
Any time I have been to Phuket it has rained. It has the highest rainfall of any of Thailand's provinces. It usually doesn't rain all day, at the most for a few hours. And it is always hot and humid.
Phuket is far from being Thailands wettest province, Ranong has that honor haha.
Any time will be a good time, don't worry about the weather, it is impossible to predict & can be so different year to year. We have been going to Phuket for many many years in June & have never had a problem with the weather. You would have to be pretty unlucky for it to pour with rain every day that you are there.

Your lucky you live in Perth, much cheaper for you to fly there haha. If you want to go Air Asia then grab flights if there is a sale on. Malaysia Airlines have also just had good prices. Check them all!
