Default Kamala or Chalong?

I opened a new post as the other did not seem to have much discussion.

I have the choice to stay in a studio in kamala or an apartment in Chalong.

The one in Chalong look much nicer, very cosy. But I know that chalong is not the best location. Bit far to go to patong at night (but I bring my own), have to go a bit further, like Nai Harn for the beach. but I do not how live is there. I be staying a month.
The kamala studio is 21.000 all in and the Chalong 25.000. I do not care for the extra baht, but want the best area to stay for a month......

Somebody can give me some feedback?

If you intend going into Patong a lot then Kamala is the place to stay, it has a nice village feel to it, plenty of bars & restaurants, nice beach etc and only a few mins into Patong.

It really depends on what you're looking for.

Chalong is developing fast lately, and is quite lively at night with expats, mainly dive instructors and English teachers, and without many tourists.
Kamala is closer to the beach, has some bars and is closer to Patong, all more on the touristy side of life.

Kamala is a muslim village, no? So different!

Yes, I am afraid Chalong is too busy. I am concentrating on Kata (although I have been there too many times) , but my budget is a bit small. I can only spend max 30.000 bht/month, and not like hotels, but prefer local houses or a condo
