Default Bangkok Dinner Cruise

Hello all! anyone have advice for the best dinner cruise? Prefer set menu--buffet is not fave, but acceptable if REALLY great.
We'll be in city Sat and Sun week one and return on Friday for final overnight. Romantic would be nice--maybe not a big modern boat? More traditional Thai stye? Thanks ever so much y'all.

This is something I would really like to recommend!

A big reastaurant ferry, "Chao Phraya Princess", with indoor as well as outdoor (recommended!!) tables is leaving from the River City pier about 7.00 PM, and you will have the most beautiful and romantic trip up the Chao Phraya River enjoying a set-menu, live soft music (which allows you to talk), and the view of the Bangkok skyline and not least the temples which are all litten up.

Take a look at this website:

Bangkok Airport Transfer and Bangkok Tour

The smaller traditional style cruises are all having a roof which doesn't allow you to enjoy the sights, but if you prefer that you may chech this site:

::: ORIENTAL ESCAPE ::: Thailand travel agency offers high quality tour & sightseeing, promotion package, transfer, hotel reservation service in Bangkok Chiang Mai Phuket Pattaya Hua Hin & Other destination in Siam Land of Smile

But do go for it!

Hi there, I can only comment on the Wan Fah dinner cruise but we enjoyed it so much we did it again on our last trip there. You have a choice of a Thai set menu or a seafood one. The food was good and their is background music then a Thai dancing show. Heres a link to some of our info and photos on the dinner cruise.

You guys are amazing--thanks so much!! I'm not sure I understand the aprt about no roof on the Princess--I see roof and it looks like 2 levels? I'm sure we'll make a decision when we get there, but I will be very well-inofrmed thanks to both your responses. Cathy and Gary--what a great website--I am NOT going anywhere in Asia wi/out cking first!

Default Loy Nava

Kyshel - you MUST try the Loy Nava cruise - it is gorgeous. It's a converted antique rice barge, very romantic and beautifully done.

Seats about 40 people so it's not one of those huge "cruise ships" with hundreds of people and blaring music/lights.

It is very tasteful and the food was excellent (I've been travelling to Thailand every year for about 15 years and so I know and love my Thai food!). It's a set menu - very generous and lots of variety and there are seafood and vegetarian options as well. Drinks were not too pricey either.

Cost was about Aus$50 pp including round trip transfers from your hotel. There are two departures - one at 6pm and the other at 8pm from the pier next door to The Oriental hotel.

There are a couple of sets of Thai dancing (seems to be compulsory on these things!) which although a bit touristy, but honestly quite good and not too intrusive.

You don't have to share tables, which is great and we really enjoyed it enormously - I would go again, which is saying something as I'm really not generally into those sorts of tours.

I'm sure your hotel concierge can book it but the discounts on the net are quite substantial - Loy Nava Dinner Cruises in Bangkok, Thailand. Dining - restaurant - sightseeing.

I don't think you will be disappointed - food is great, beautiful decor, excellent service, and you sort of feel like you are stepping back in time being on this lovely antique vessel. Oh, and of course the views of Bangkok are superb - all in all, a wonderful, memorable night out!

Have fun!

One of the top dinner cruises is the one offered by the Shangra-La hotel. You can just call the hotel to book it.
