Default Hotel in Don Mueng - waiting for a flight

Well -I have tried to send a PM to several of you, but they never seem to go thru - so must post this in the Forum Thread. Thank you in advance for the help.

We will be in Bangkok May of 2012, and will need to find a Hotel near Bangkok's old Airport (Don Mueng), in order to catch a flight to Phitsanoluk the next day. Where would you recommend a family to stay for the night? How would we get there?

Thank you,

Don't waste a lot of time worrying about a hotel near this airport. Don Muang is totally flooded and may or may not even open! Flights are now out of Suvarnabhumi. Even if it was open a meter taxi from a hotel in another area of Bangkok is not that expensive for a whole car load of people. In other areas of Bangkok you have more to do around your hotel - like Pratunam or Sukhumvit Road area.

What is the rush to get out of Bangkok anyway? A couple days in the city and a day or two at the end of your holiday usually works out pretty good for many tourists. Consider alternate transportation such as the train from Hualamphong.

In May Don Muang will be cleaned up. Try We train, google for it, affordable and close by.
