I am an avid sailor. It's a passion and a joy. Traveling is another one of these passions I have. It's always been a dream of mine to combine the two and sail in different areas around the world. It's time i start making the dream a reality.

Does anybody have any experience renting sail boats in South East Asia? It would be great to even hear from someone who has sailed in the area.

How much does it cost to rent a boat? I am interested in sailing around for a week to 3 weeks. What do the companies or yacht charters ask for as collateral towards the boat?

Basically I am new to the concept and would like to hear about any experience you may have.

I'm not huge into sailing personally but I have a very good friend here in Bangkok who goes all the time. I know that there are tons of options in Phuket and Pattaya is very popular for sailing as well.

I also know that there are people with boats here who are always looking for experienced sailors to join them for races, etc. Just a matter of getting in touch with them..
