Default Mosquito Net for Thailand

I'm heading to Bangkok this winter and I was told that there are lots of mosquitoes in Thailand. I'm thinking about buying a mosquito net to use at hostels and the beach. Does anyone know where I can get a good one? I don't know which kind to get.

Dear Spammer,

Your IP address states you are already in Bangkok and so I have removed the link you posted to some outlet selling mosquito nets which you are no doubt associated with.

To anyone reading this who might consider bringing a mosquito net to Thailand: don't! Well, you can if you really want, but be aware that

-they are huge, heavy things;
-they are a pain to install at every guesthouse/hotel you visit, and to pack away;
-there might not be appropriate ceiling fittings for you to do so;
-there is little to no risk of Malaria in Thailand away from the border areas, so there is not the pressing need to avoid mosquito bites that there is, say in Myanmar or Laos;
-a bottle of tropical strength (40% or so) DEET coupled with maybe a mosquito coil or plug-in gadget that emanates anti-mosquito stuff as well as a piezo zapper thing to relieve the irritation of bites (a little gadget that puts a small electric shock around a bite to numb the nerves, dulling the itch) is cheaper, lighter, easier and IMHO much better solution than carting a net around.

Others may disagree... I am willing to be set straight.

Thanks Mr Spammer for a worthwhile topic! :-D

In addition, nearly all places where you might need one also provide them.

If you move up to a cheap guest house that has A/C you can keep the windows shut. That way you won't have any of the little buggers flying in. I have never seen anyone using a mosquito net on the beach!

Haha... me neither! The sea breeze will keep the blighters away for the most part; they hate wind. Even though the risk of dengue fever is real (if small) in Thailand, it is best managed IMHO by covering up at risk times (dawn, dusk), applying DEET to exposed skin (paying particular attention to thin/hairless skin areas such as elbows and ankles), and as you say managing your aircon room (going on a mosquito hunt on entry, using anti-mozzie plugins thereafter etc) rather than hauling around a mozzie net.
