Default Club Andaman Beach Resort

Hi there
Although I have followed the forum for quite a while, this is the first thread I have initiated.
I am visiting Patong in 2 weeks time, and am looking forward to returning for what will be my third visit in 2 years.
Previously we have stayed at the Club Andaman Beach Resort and loved it. We were disappointed last year to find that it was to close in April this year . Consequently we are staying at Graceland this year (I've heard good and bad about this, so I'll go with an open mind and formulate my own opinion)
All that said, what I would like to know is does anybody know what is to become of the Club Andaman Resort ? (not to be confused with the Beach Suites). When we were there last year the staff confirmed it was closing down but weren't able to shed any light on whether it was for redevelopment, upgrade, or whatever.

Belinda, we are staying not far from Club Andaman, so pass it regularly, I was under the impression that it has been sold & is being renovated. Supposedly a lot of the land has been sold off for another development (the pool area & the garden bungalows). As of yesterday (and the last 3 mths) it is cordoned off & there seems to still be a lot of construction happening there.
