Talking Phuket Travel Buddy Needed?

Hey guys!

I'm heading to Thailand arriving on the 14th of October and leaving on November 1, probably looking to stay in Patong for the bulk of it but open to anything. looking for people to hang out or head out with and also enjoy the nightlife!! I'm a 21 year old male from Australia :)

If interested reply here or send me a PM through the forum!
Cheers!!

Too easy, and why bother with westener companionship, as that is the reason you are holidaying in 'exotic' thailand, though patong wouldn't be my choice.

simply rent yourself a long haired interpeter / tour guide and enjoy all that is thailand. the rental cost will offset the overpricing you will avoid with the 'tour guides' recommendations......ENJOY

Phuket is the most expensive place in Thailand to stay for a long time. Even Bangkok is cheaper especially when you consider transportation costs. Don't skip a visit to Bangkok and try to fit in a trip to northern Thailand, like Chiang Mai, so you can see the real Thailand!

If nightlife is a big thing on your trip it will be much cheaper in Pattaya. Bus ride there is only around 115 baht for the 2 hour ride. Patong is a smaller but more expensive version of Pattaya. Hotels and local transportation (10 baht) are cheaper in Pattaya. But the beach is much better in Phuket.

You will find expats and other "friends" in a beer bar.

Up to you!

I would second Koonel's advice and question your choice of Patong. I went there with a female backpacker I met and we didn't know any better about the place. It was certainly an eye-opener for both of us, but if you're not after nefarious activities then there are better recommendations on Phuket, or even throughout Thailand, that might suit your needs.

Spell out to us what you are looking for on your hols and perhaps we can come up with a few better recommendations. Koh Pha Ngan immediately springs to mind for a young backpacker interested in an ex-pat-oriented nightlife. You'll meet tons of other backpackers there.

cheers,
Steve
