that's way over my budget............LOL, but i do usually stay in the area, at times. depending where if i need to be any place else. a convenient area, as has some shopping, IT at Fortune mall, a robinson and carrefour / now big c and a tesco/lotus at fortune mall also. a newer Espanada mall is a pleasant place, a bit more upscale, and has ice skating and some more cineplex options. also sweet recipes or something for that quick much and very good sweet tooth satifaction.

there are 13 hotels listed on sawadee website, trusted discount booking site, all within 2 kms of suttisan MRT station. price range from 2500 baht to 1000. with 2 being sold out of their sawadee allottment of rooms, which doesn't necessarily mean they are full. Emerald always looked nice, but i'm not familiar with any of the ones listed.

if you don't mind slumming it, we stay at Watanna Mansion quite often, and mansion is a stretch of the word. 700 baht range, and is half long term residents, quite a few working gals from immediate area, as well established 'entertainment' part of town. though never been solicited or approached by anyone, though not in the coffee shop during the witching hour. WM is almost clean and very secure, with off street secure parking, a necessity for us. MRT to BTS makes transport in the area very easy and access to most things.

also in the area, Lat Phrao Central has just reopened, after a long refitting, so should be very nice, a few more mrt stops and you are at the weekend market.

hope that helps a bit, sorry about no recommendations in your price range. these rates on sawadee are for now / off season, sure to be increased during peak season at half of them. good luck
