Default Not been to LOS in a few years

We have not been to Thailand since 2007 (that was our third visit). We have been to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Phi Phi, and Samui.
We are planning on going back this October for 2 weeks but this is mainly for a relaxing break and not planning on doing as much as we would normally, may not even spend any days in Bangkok. I am looking at Krabi and Krabi La Playa Resort, does anyone have any experience of this place?
Is the town/ beach/ restaurants etc within walking distance (don't want to eat at hotel too often)? So long as the weather is warm - hot i won't be too bothered.
Thanks for responses

Since your last visit to Thailand There is a new rail connection that brings you from the airport to the Pratunam area for only 45 baht using the City Line. At Phaya Thai you can even connect with the Skytrain if you want. No rail service after midnight. There are hotels in the Pratunam area that you can walk to from Ratchaprorop and Phaya Thai.

Have you considered Hua Hin at all? Easy to get to from Bangkok. I think the weather at Hua Hin will be a little better than Krabi for October.

Have fun.

Default Thanks Koonel

Leaving this trip until quite last minute but still keeping options open. Can get a good deal at Holiday Inn Regent Cha Am and it is on the list. If the weather is better on the Gulf coast then we may change to it.

Hi Wayne,

I was in Krabi and Phuket in October last year and the weather was perfect...but there is always a chance of some rain.

I would suggest Ao Nang Villa Resort as it is in the best location on Ao Nang Beach and the rooms have been recently renovated.

The prices are very reasonable in October.

If you go to Hua Hin, I would not suggest Holiday Inn...go for something with a bit more local flavor. Putahracsa Resort, Chalelarn Hotel and Banyan Resort are all fantastic!

Hope this helps.

Lenny
