Default Make sure you keep your boarding pass

In what seems to be one of those famous "sometimes they do sometimes they don't" things.

Apparently lately Thai immigration have been requesting that you need to show your boarding pass for the flight you just arrived on.

So just to be on the safe side make sure you keep the boarding pass with the rest of the documents you have when you land at the airport.

They probably won't stop you from coming in but hey who wants to spend anymore time in Immigration than you have too.

thanks for the heads up! I thought boarding cards were for, well, boarding! I wonder why they are doing this?? Maybe to make sure you did not slip through security from outside and try to clear immigration and customs unlawfully

There have been reports of Thai officials demanding boarding passes for the last few months. Recent post on Thorntree about it too. Don't forget it on the plane!
One theory is that it's to stop people doing "visa runs" without ever leaving the country .... cheap single Air Asia ticket that people don't actually use ...seems far fetched but who knows?

I've been talking on Thorn Tree about this as well ( I know I'm a horrible person for seeing another board on the side)

Yes, on my last couple of visits, uniformed people have asked for boarding passes. They're usually standing just a short way along the corridor from where you get off the plane but sometimes about halfway to immigration. Very annoying if you don't know this and then have to rummage through your bag/pockets for your boarding pass.

On this visit (arrived last Saturday night) they were nowhere to be seen. I had the boarding pass all ready in my hand too!
