Morning from a rainy UK.

Its now roughly 2 weeks till my first Thailand trip and I have been checking the weather for both Bangkok and Ko Samui each day ... however it never seems to change ... Always says 'scattered thunder storms'

I know this time of year does see more storms and more rain but wondered if anyone in Bangkok or Samui .. or even just returned.. can tell me more what to expect at the moment.

Was in BKK and Phuket this time last year.Most days it was beautiful,sunny and warm then about 4-pm at night the sky would open and it would rain for a few hours--very heavy at times.it also rained a lot overnight.
In no way did it detract from the holiday.Usually by the time the rain came we had done all our stuff and were quite happy to possie in at a nice bar/resturant and watch the world go by.
I spent the first 24 years of my life in Northern ireland--so nomatter what way you look at things the Thai weather still beats U.K weather with a big stick.

As you all know Thai Wheater seem to be almost nice with sunlight, but beaare of Raining during 16-20 August will be raining throught out the country.

The weather always says that when ever you look at what ever time of year.

Just returned from Bkk and Samui over the weekend.

Bangkok was hot and steamy during the day with the famous "scattered thunderstorms" in the afternoon and night - we got caught in a storm one evening and it took over an hour by taxi to travel about 4km!

Samui was beautiful - we were there for 8 days and it only rained once - the day we left! - and then only briefly, but a good downpour. It tended to be a bit overcast in the mornings but this usually cleared before lunchtime and it was really lovely ... divinely warm but not too sticky - much nicer than our visit last year when we were there in May.
