Hey,
Me and my girlfriend will be there from early December 2011 to Jan 2012.
Will start start off in Bangkok, and from there we are still deciding.
Would be great to meet others, who are travelling/ travel buddies...
Where abouts are you travelling from?

Hey Carla,
Were also travelling from LDN Heathrow, i think on the 7th Dec.
Cant wait, but still a long while to go....
Just curious to know, but what made you decide to go? and solo too?
Have you done any more planning?
-Were thinking to spend the first few days in Bangkok, then to Kanchanaburi (National Parks/ Death Railway etc),moving further north to Chiang Mai/ Chian Rai and then to the beaches/islands in the south, before finishing off in Bangkok and doing some small shopping.
We still got so much planning to do... means of travelling/different places to visit/costs/accomnodation etc etc. Don't know where to start lol. But its all fun stuff.

Um well i had a lot of set backs the previous years and have always wanted to travel. I just decided to go ahead and book it. If friends want to join me along the way they can, but i had a few let downs before i booked it so i was just like, bugger it ill book it then yeh they can book it later on if they want to or if they are serious about it. Ha ha!
Oh yes it does involve a lot of planning and finding out alot of information. Theres so many thing to do, have you looked into the elephant trek, that looks pretty amazing. Im not too worried about accomodation as there isso many hostels around Thailand, as long as i have a hotel booked for the first few nights i get to bangkok. Take it as it comes thats my plan! Ha ha! I think that if you plan it day to day or if you plan it by bookin all of your accomodation before you go it takes the fun away, its good to experience a bit of randomness ha ha!
Where are you guys coming from in england? |

Great to hear your story, and def. know where your coming from. Even we had a few setbacks, and had to put off the idea for a while. But a month or so ago, we thought to just go ahead and book it and forget everything else. So glad we did...
We did consider elephant trekking, but then found out about how cruel it is for the elephants.
Personally, it saddens me to think about how much torment they must go through, just so tourists can have such an experience.
But, we do def. want to do the hill tribe trek.
Also want to do - Full moon party, Concert/event at the national stadium, National Parks, Overnight train, Buddist/Thai Temples.
Same goes, for Accom. We've only booked our 1st night so far. We may book a few other nights across the 4 weeks (x-mas & new years day etc).
But I have read that accom. is a lot more difficult to get during the time we will be there, as it is peak season.
Do you have a back up plan, just in case? lol
Were based in North London anyway. How about yourself?
Have you booked your 1st nights in Bangkok already? or...? What date do you arrive?

x | Hi..November is very nice period to visit Thailand as the weather is not too hot and it's stopped raining. Good to visit the islands. Anyway, in Bangkok, I recommend staying 3-5 days.

Hey all!
I arrive in Bangkok from Brisbane QLD on the 20th Nov, my friend will be there a week later. We are both 24yo Aussie girls and will be traveling through Thailand for about 6 weeks. We don't have a concrete plan yet though we are certain that we are going to be in Koh Phangan for xmas and full moon party! Will be great to get your emails and keep in touch. :)
