We are off to Thailand on 17th April and everything is arranged (nearly!) except I still have two queries I am looking for some help with;

On Monday 20th April we fly from Bangkok to Trang and arrive at 4.25pm. We were hoping to go straight to Ko Phi Phi for a few days but after looking online it looks as though we will have missed the last ferry? Apart from staying over, does anyone have an idea of a private transfer if this is possible (as well as costs,) or have any alternative ideas?

On Monday 2nd May we have a flight from Surat Thani to Bangkok which leaves at 8.40am. We were hoping to stay on Ko Phangan the night before - does this give us enough time to get to the airport in the morning or will we need to stay over somewhere closer? Any ideas on travelling times and costs would be much appreciated.

Private boat transport is attainable but it is far more expensive than ferries. It is also dependent upon how adventurous or risk-averse you are, as it is not regulated like the ferry system.

Thank you for your reply - I think we are willing to take the risk as it looks like this is our only way to get to the island as the public ferries will have already finished for the day!

Do you know how we would go about booking this? Could we get someone to take us when we arrive at the airport or would we be better off booking it online before we go? If you have any idea of costs as well it would be appreciated.
