Default Which area of Krabi to stay at?

Where is the best area to stay at Krabi. Would like to be on beach with restaurants, shopping nearby. Stayed at Phuket hoping Krabi not so crazy and touristy! Accommodation suggestions for 3 Adults sharing would be appreciated.

We have only stayed at Ao Nang in Krabi, the bungalows at Andaman Sunset Resort (Wannas Place) have a queen size and a single bed in the rooms, plus their rates are good, on the beach road and very close to shops, restaurants, bars etc. Here are some photos of the hotel.

I would recommend going to Railay Beach for 2 nights and then Ao Nang for 1. Railay is a much nicer beach but it doesn't have much shopping. The you can do all your shopping in Ao Nang.

For accommodation advice, if you let us know your budget, I would be happy to give you some suggestions!

The resort Cathy mentioned in Ao Nang is good.

If you are thinking Krabi is not as much of a touristy place then you are all wrong.
It is nowhere near as in your face like Phuket but there is a lot of holiday makers. Still a lovely place to visit. I have been to Ao Nang a few times and was a great chill out.
