Why? - because prices at the bar at our lanta accomm seem a tad high (on their drink list), so I was thinking lanta as a whole might be a bit more expensive than Phuket.
But if that's not the case, I'll just get it when we get to lanta :) cheers.

Better off heading staright to Ko Lanta but night life is not what ur there for.

If its night life Patong is ur best bet and its not as bad as people make out if ur there to enjoy

Tour/travel agents make 90% of their income from tours and activties that they book NOT hotells. Agoda/accomline, asiatravel have the best deals

as to getting back from lanat its hit or miss as to the weather but its nly 5 hours by bus via Krabi so you can check once ur there.
Well we're not there until the 23rd, and leaving on the 1st. So will miss Sognkran.

You may have missed my last couple of posts, we've booked Phi Phi. We want to go there, it's on the way to Koh Lanta and it will give us a bit more of an experience. People seem turned off by over populated, tourist areas, but I would like to see what it's like. As well as seeing what Patong's night life is like, and what Koh Lanta's apparently more relaxed atmosphere is like. If I don't like Phi Phi as much as other areas, it's not the end of the world - at least I will have stayed in 3 places in my 10 days, rather than just 2!

A lot of people who comment on these forums seem to work around a person only wanting one type of holiday, party or relaxed... I think having a bit of both will be our best bet :D
