Default Buying furniture in Bangkok

Hi everyone,
I just moved to Thailand and am renting a nice condominium in Sathorn area, i want to furnish it but don't know where to buy nice design furniture.

I went to SB furniture and to Index mall but I was not convinced, SB is too expensive for what you get and I think that the quality of Index is so so, any recommendation?

Thanks in advance

Just about every mall will have a floor dedicated to home furnishings. Don't know any specific "brands" to recommend.

You might head up to JJ Plaza. It's the area just north of Chatuchak Weekend Market. Lots of independent vendors selling all sorts of interesting stuff.

Default Furniture Bangkok

Thanks Curt for your reply, I'll have a look this week end.
I've been to some of these events before and I will say that 90% of the furniture are in wood, I'm looking more for metal, glass, and leather.

Cheers

I also went to the Mega Show at Impact, rather enjoyed it. Though most did not appeal to us. Very dangerous place, as in town for the EC concert, which was excellent of course…….then noticed, hard to miss the jewelry and furniture exhibition at the convention center. Thankfully the little lady isn’t into jewelry, which was all **** anyway.

Did find two displays / manufacturers I liked and we bought a bed frame from one and a living room set from another that consisted of matching table and 2 chairs and a small sofa, very comfy for 2 people. Was extremely happy with the unique styling and price. We live in Udon Thani, and besides SB and Index, which I find overpriced and unimaginative, same same as they say.

Pieces were ordered, and hopefully will be as represented, LOL, will find out in a month or so, as had them delay making and shipping, since house will not be completed for another month, at least. Shipping was inexpensive.

Also bought some chairs and barstools at WeekEnd Market, again, availability in Udon is weak, and they were well made.

Below is the info, not sure if showroom or factory.
Famous Design / Furniture Made to Order
Located in Nonthaburi
Salesperson: Narumon Intapa (Nu) (female)
Cell 087-115-3898, land line 02-459-5870
Email: famous_1818@hotmail.com

Mix Funiture
Located Samut Prakham
Salesperson: Ded 089-631-5102
Cell 080-458-2700 ?? 02-182-4306
Email: mixfurniture@hotmail.com

Most furniture at Chatuchak Market is on the north side ? I think, near the street the runs back to JJ Mall. Found made to order / from catalogue bamboo chairs / barstools, that swivel, are level and will take some weight, as most I’ve tested were shaky at best. Shop was called Waknaw Bamboo Furniture J shock - surprise. But that is all they do, small shop, chairs, barstools and small tables.
Phone if lost: 082-3273012

Pricing 2000-3000 for chairs (2400) and stools (2800), seem to be going price, but well made.

Everything seems to be expensive here, but don’t mind if quality.

For………………….. If only here 2 years, may want to consider leasing something furnished, as locals, those that can afford it, aren’t big on buying used furniture. That spirit thing, and the rest can’t afford it, sadly, stuffed mat or straw mat is decent bed.

If you have too much money, you can go to Central Word Plaza, lots of furniture there, thankfully non I liked, as thought all was way overpriced.
