We're off on Sunday morning (and counting).

We had a lovely driver who looked after us in Samui last year. His name is Tawee and we found him in the main street in Bophut and he was absolutely lovely.

I've tried to call his mobile today to let him know we are coming, and whoever answers it is definitely not him and doesn't speak a word of English!

I'm hoping that when we get to Bangkok, one of my Thai friends can try the number and perhaps find out what has happened to him.

However, failing that and if he has returned to his family in Bangkok or has retired or something, I just wondered if any members had any suggestions for good drivers in Samui?

We honestly aren't very adventurous but we just like knowing that our driver is with us and we don't have to worry about taxis etc, so we are just after a good reliable driver with a comfortable a/c car or van - we don't especially want a "guide" as such - but we would like a dedicated driver, rather than just a taxi that we hail in the street.

Of course if anyone does know of Tawee's whereabouts and his new contact number, that would be even better!
