Default Special Occasion Restuarant in Koh Samui??

We're off on Sunday ... well Jetstar willing, we are!

We have four nights/three days in Bangkok and then seven nights/eight days in Samui - can't wait, especially as the Melbourne winter has been so bitter lately.

Whilst we are there, we will celebrate my adorable mother's birthday (mid 60's going on 24!).

I'd love to take her somewhere really special - probbaly for lunch as she is more of a day time, than a night time person - any suggestions? Having said that, if there is a "must do" evening experience or particular view or restaurant that is amazing at sunset, please let me know! We weren't very adventurous last year and tended mainly to eat around our hotel area. Our favourite restaurant from our last visit was Poppies but I thought we might try something new and different.

We are staying at Muang Samui on the northern end of Chaweng, but we have a fabulous driver so are prepared to venture out a bit to the right spot.

Would love a sea view, and it MUST be Thai food, not western!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Daniele,
You lucky thing samui on sunday.
We loved Prego it is owened by the Amari and is Italian, some Thai, the service presentation etc are wonderful. Not sea front I am afraid.
For the vista try the Cliff in between Chewang and Lamai. Book and then you get a table at the front lovely views and great reviews.
Starfish and coffee in fishermans village has good beach front location.
You have mentioned Poppies and then there is Red snapper attached to the Regent.
go to them all ! and just the beach ones in Chewang.
Have a fab time.

Default restaurant in koh samui

Hi Daniele,

have a look at Big john's seafood in Lipa Noi, I think. seafood platter was amazing, it's set right next to the beach serve cocktails and have music and dancing. They also have a taxi service pick you up from your hotel and take you back brilliant if you've had a few too many.

Enjoy!!!
