The weather in June 2011 will be quite wet here. However, there might be a bit cloudy in the morning or so but you would be able to enjoy sun in the noon time. Also there might be some rain during evening or morning time.
That won't affect your trip much. Also you will be able to enjoy shopping here as well as the food.
But bare i mind that the area in Southern Thailand that you should avoid are
beaches around Andaman side include Mu Koh Talutao National Park, Mu Koh Surin National Park, Mu KohSimilan National park, Phan Nga National Park, Khao Sok National Park and Khao Lak National Park will be close for sports activities from May - November period due to monsoon and is not safe for travellers to travel.

However, you may vist some other area like Koh Samui, Phuket etc. is open for snorkelling and other sports activities all the period.

As for my advice, i would therefore, recommend you to make advance booking for accommodation to safe your time and to avoid fully booked places.
You can view the way to get to Koh Phangan from Bangkok at this link : HOW TO GET TO KOH PHANGAN--KOH PHANGAN TRAVEL INFORMATION
