Default Klong Toey Market in Bangkok

The Klong Toey Market is off the beaten path, but worth a visit if you want to step back 40-50 years, and easy to get to on your own. This is the fresh market in Bangkok. Fresh butchered meats, fresh fish, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, the whole works, and it's huge.

On the other side of the street is a dry goods market with clothing, amulets, and basic dry goods. It is pretty good sized also.

To get there you use the MRT (subway), and get off at the Klong Toey stop. Depending on which exit you take out of the subway you will see an expressway to your left or right. Walk directly away from the expressway down Rama IV road. about 4 blocks you will come to the markets.

I don't know of any other market like it in Bangkok. It's very old school. The times I have been there, I have never seen another tourist. It's not on the maps.

Have fun.
