Default Best Pool in Pattaya?

G'day folks,

It's been years since I've been to Pattaya and I have a few days to spend lounging around a pool for a bit of R&R in September.

Couldn't be bothered flying all the way down to Phuket or Koh Samui (the weather is a bit iffy that time of year anyway).

Anyway's being the cheap charlie that I am I am looking for Hotel with a nice big pool around 1,500 bhat.

Any suggestions?

Default Cabbages and Condoms Hotel Resort

Friends of mine stayed there a few months ago and really enjoyed it. They were all singles, no kids in their 30's and 40's.

Here is the link

Yes, it 's a very nice place for sure. A group of us stayed there at Easter this year (seaview deluxe rooms
The pics on the link are pretty accurate but gardens have grown since then so the place looks even nicer (the link says these are from 2004) so that explains it.

I seriously doubt that you'd get anything at all at this resort for 1500 baht though. Friends looked at the cheapest rooms and said they were dark and musty - can't remember the price for these - but they ended up going to a small place a couple of hundred metres up the street.

If you can't get anything in your range at C&C, The Cosy Beach hotel is not far away and might suit you..... it's in the budget price range ....2 nice pools, seafront (on hill so stairs down to beach) buffet breakfast is pretty good and in house restaurant ok too. There are other restaurants and bars just outside the hotel. Scout around on internet booking sites and check rates. Seaview deluxe are the best rooms - fab views from the room or from your balcony (chairs out there too).

Thanks Kimbo,

I just had a look at my booking site and that looks as though it might do the trick. Just need somewhere where I can relax under a tree, catch up on my reading and go for a dip.

Going to be in Bkk for a conference (why they would choose Bkk in early Sept is beyond me).

Mind you look out for me in the Pattaya news. I could be the first ever middle aged single guy who goes to Pattaya and all he want's to do is go to bed with a good book!

Anthony

In Pattaya if a falang makes the news he`s generally in more trouble than you can poke a stick at & you certainly are in a very very small minority in Pattaya if you are single & all you have next to you in bed is a book.

Going back a few years now I stayed at a place called the Tropicana, pool there was ok & price & rooms ok

And I'll make sure to stay away from all balconies in case I "accidentally" fall off
