that time of year, i would just book first 1-2 nights, only pay for one, then the other if like. tourism is quite dead right now, and less in rainy season, though don't let that scare you away. as it might not rain for a week, and you may be shooting pool and drinking beer for a week, so no worries there. 2 months..............get your FREE tourist visa and consulate near you, after april 1st they are free again. avoid any airline hassles, as visa in hand i better than not, especially if hanging out more than 30 days. multi entry or dual if offered, though you may be charged and admin fee, but visa should be free.

if in the 'backpack tourist' areas, you'll have no problem meeting people of like mind, or not. or you could always go with the 'local guide' male or female, though pm me for info on how that works, since a family forum. the guide will be quite useful saving you on accommodations and food, returning any expense you'll pay, and more smiles while here. not endorsed or recommended for everyone, but i've enjoyed their 'knowledge'.

good luck and enjoy.

any thought were you are headed ??

Agreed with La, book your first night or two and then leave it wide open. If you're nervous about accomodations, inquire ahead (aka now) to see what the hotels and hostels are expecting for traffic come June. It'll at least give you a better idea to work from.
