Default jbr pattaya

hi left sydney 8/6/2007 in pouring rain usual trip to sydney 2.5 hours this one 4.5 left late flying thai via brissy then onto bangkok.very impressed by new airport all mod cons available.
picked up by tour east then on to pattaya first impression this looks good then arrived at hotel siam bayview resort very nice from outside and pretty impressive inside,we stayed on 6th floor overlooking pool room a bit small with 2 large single beds for 3 of us hubby and i squashed in 1 grandaughter had other they offered us another single bed but room was small enough without cramping another in.it had a very small balcony 1 chair and small table big enough to turn around on,small bathroom and tub beside the room being small the hotel was very nice 2 pools ,spa and great breakfast .
this was classed as a delux room.
we went to crocadile park, tiger park, pattaya park, underwater world and tiffany show all were great BUT for anyone taking kids miss crocadile park all is at tiger park and is better.pattaya park is good there are rides and water park with slides cable car that takes you up to revolving restaurant BEWARE we were sick after eating there.
tiffany show was really good grandaughter loved it she was dancing in her seat.
food good lots of restaurants plus the usual food outlets plus sizzlers.
found the girls really friendly its the males who hire them who are sleezy we actually had 2 of these sleez bags at hotel frollicking in pool and were actually chatted by hotel staff 1 day it was really bad we shifted to 2 pool which is at side of hotel then others followed .
a lot of businesses conferences seem to go there buses in and out.
we do not drink so bars were out for us
overall i enjoyed pattaya BUT found eating and shopping on streets very expensive compared to bangkok and laundry service was expensive too 1400 baht then we had a lot more washed in chaing mai 900 baht.
BEWARE if taking visa debit card ours was put on hold after using siam atm apparently it is a practice they do we were unable to access for 4 day lucky i had au dollars as reserve we had to ring our bank in australia to sort out.
cheap shopping centre tesco lotus and carrefour.
we were shocked 1 night walking back from tea we actually saw a man bashing a woman on beach side of road it was really getting out of hand 4 people had to break it up that was an eye opener.
would go back and would recommend but stay a little further down the road away from the centre.
cheers
jo

Hi Jo,
sounds like you had a good time. Did you go to any markets? How long do you think it would take to see most of the touristy things plus a bit of shopping of course.

Cheers

Karin
